Our Year 6 students observed the two-minute silence on their residential trip to Henley Fort Outdoor Education Centre in Guildford. They dressed in WW2 ARP and Home Guard uniforms.

The aim of the trip was to give our students an immersive learning experience around the topic of World War II, combined with the very important opportunity for bonding and problem-solving through team tasks, including climbing and orienteering.

Henley Fort is a Victorian Fort built during the late 19th Century to protect London from invasion by the French. It was later used by the Home Guard in World War II as a re-supply depot. It is now an outdoor education facility offering groups a chance to take part in challenging activities or a living historical experience in an authentic setting.
