Prep - Reception to Year 8

Entry for students aged 4–13

 

The traditional entry points to the Prep School are in Reception to Year 3 and Year 7. However, Seaford is pleased to welcome students into all year groups, from Reception through to Year 7, throughout the academic year, subject to availability, as well as at the usual September intake.

The closing date for registration for potential entry into Year 7, September 2027 is 1st October 2026.

Visit Our Open Morning

Our Open Mornings are designed to be relaxed and informal, giving families time to explore the campus with a student guide. This allows you to gain a genuine insight into our culture and ethos with opportunities to chat with our staff along the way. The morning concludes with refreshments and the chance to meet and speak with our senior leadership team.

Arrange a Visit

Come and see us in action during the school day! You will have a tour of Seaford with the Head of Prep, Mr Alastair Brown, who will answer any questions you have about joining Seaford.

Complete Registration Form

If you would like your child to be considered for a place at Seaford College Prep School, please complete the online registration form together with payment of the non-refundable registration fee. Registration is not a guarantee of a place. We advise registering at least 18 months in advance.

Attend a Discovery Session, Taster Day or Experience Day

Children wishing to join Reception are invited to our Seaford Discovery Sessions. Your little ones are invited to join our Owl Class for a taste of the fun ahead, whether that’s getting creative in Art, moving and grooving in Dance and Music, exploring the great outdoors at Forest School, or jumping into a lively Games session.

For entry for Year 1 to Year 6, we welcome your child to our Prep School for a Taster Day where they join students in their current year group and participate in lessons and activities.

For entry into Year 7, we invite students to visit on one of two Seaford Experience Days where they will take part in a fun and action-packed day and meet some of our current students.

School Reports and References

We will ask you for your child’s most recent school report and any specialist diagnostic reports, if applicable. We will request an academic and personal reference directly from your child’s current school. Seaford College is a mainstream, non-elitist school that is academically non-selective. We use reports and references to ascertain not only whether your child will be able to access the curriculum, but whether they will be happy in the Seaford College environment.

Ability Testing Day

Children registered for entry to Year 6 and Year 7 will be asked to sit Cognitive Abilities Tests. We use Cognitive Abilities Tests to assess your child’s current and future potential.

Accept Offer

On completion of the admissions process, and if successful, an offer of a place will be made. A deposit is required to secure the place. £500 for entry to Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, £1000 for entry to Year 3 to Year 6 and £2000 for entry to Year 7.

Welcome to Seaford Prep

New Joiners are invited to our fun-filled Move Up Day at the end of the Summer Term, taking part in bonding and team-building activities as well as time to explore their new classrooms. The day ends with Afternoon Tea, and parents are warmly invited to join us. Our gentle induction and familiarisation programme continues in the first week of the Autumn Term to ensure that the transition to Seaford Prep is smooth and seamless.
