Prep - Reception to Year 8
Entry for students aged 4–13
Although the traditional entry points into the Prep School are Reception to Year 3 & Year 7, Seaford is delighted to take students into Reception to Year 7 throughout the year as well as starting in September, where we have spaces.
The closing date for registration for potential entry into Year 7, September 2026 is 1st October 2025.
Steps in Admissions Process

Visit Our Open MorningOur Open Mornings are informal and give you the chance to get a feel for our culture and ethos. You will have a tour of Seaford with a student guide. This is followed by refreshments and the chance to talk to staff and our senior team. We hold ad hoc activity events for parents considering entry into Years 1–5. |

Arrange a VisitCome and see us in action during the school day! You will have a tour of Seaford with the Head of Prep, Mr Alastair Brown, who will answer any questions you have about joining Seaford. |

Complete Registration FormFollowing a visit, if you would like your child to be considered for a place at Seaford College Prep School, please complete the registration form as soon as possible and return this to Admissions together with payment of the£120 registration fee (VAT inclusive). |

Attend a Taster Day or a Seaford Experience DayFor entry for Year 1 to Year 6, we would be delighted to welcome your child to our Prep School for a Taster Day where they join students in their current year group and participate in lessons and activities. For entry into Year 7, we invite students to visit on one of two Seaford Experience Days where they will take part in a fun and action packed day and meet some of our current students. |

Seaford Request School and any specialist reports from parentsWe use school and specialist reports (should there be any), to ascertain not only whether your child will be able to access the curriculum, but whether they will be happy in the Seaford College environment. |

We use references to ascertain not only whether your child will be able to access the curriculum, but whether they will be happy in the Seaford College environment. |

Attend Ability Testing DayRegistered students looking to join Seaford College in Years 6&7 will be asked to sit Cognitive Abilities Tests. Seaford is an inclusive, non-elitist school that is academically non-selective. We use Cognitive Abilities Tests to ascertain not only whether your child will be able to access the curriculum, but whether they will be happy in the Seaford College environment. |

Accept OfferOn completion of the Admissions process, and if successful, Seaford College will make an offer based on references, school reports, Taster Days, and CAT results (where applicable). |
