Three Schools, One College

IN THIS SECTION

We are very proud that, whilst we are three separate Schools – Prep, Senior, and Sixth Form – we are most definitely one College.

Each School has its own dedicated member of staff heading it, with Headmaster John Green overseeing all three Schools and the College as a whole. Students are treated differently at each stage of their life at Seaford, to reflect their changing needs, but they also benefit from being part of the wider community, too.

Prep School students benefit from the fantastic facilities of the Senior School, having specialist teachers in core subjects and mentoring from older students.

In the Senior School, students take part in two Carousels – a Creative Carousel and an Academic Carousel – before choosing their GCSE options, allowing them to make informed decisions about the subjects that interest them the most.

Students moving from our Senior School to the Sixth Form have great continuity, with their teachers helping them to choose A Level subjects that may help them with any particular career or university aims. We also ensure that students in our Sixth Form are given greater independence and responsibilities, creating an environment to help prepare them for university and life beyond school, including a separate boarding house for Year 13s.

Each School truly benefits from being part of the wider Seaford community, which we are proud to say is a happy and healthy one.

Love to learn


LOVE TO LEARN

We didn’t need a marketing agency to come up with our motto 'Love to learn'. It’s the language we kept hearing from our students, parents, and alumni. They kept using the phrase: “I love Seaford because...”.

We think the choice of the word 'love' rather than 'like' when someone talks about their school is impressive. The word 'love' reflects the pastoral support, the warmth and friendliness of our community. The word 'learn' has an academic focus, but you can 'love to learn' all of our extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. Loving to learn is a life skill and key to developing independent learners. Many students find a lifelong passion for academic subjects, performing arts, sport, art, photography etc. during their time at Seaford. They love to learn.
 
Achieving Your Personal Best


ACHIEVING YOUR PERSONAL BEST

We believe that every student can achieve their potential at Seaford. There are important conditions that enable a student to achieve their personal bests. These mean that the student: 

  • Attends school
  • Works hard in class and asks questions to gain understanding
  • Completes their work to a high standard
  • Responds to feedback, both written and oral, so that they can achieve their personal bests
  • Is organised and conscientious
  • Maintains strong effort levels at all times
  • Completes prep work to the best of their ability
  • Engages in independent learning
  • Recognises that reviewing their work regularly is crucial for success
  • Seeks help and support when difficulties arise
  • Is healthy, well-fed, and well-rested
  • Is happy and settled
  • Performs consistently on the day of the exam itself (not applicable to the Prep School)
  • Is well taught and thoroughly prepared for their exams
