Seaford's World Book Week Assembly 2023
The week started with a World Book Week assembly.

Gen Bayley, our Librarian, gave an interactive assembly this week for Seaford’s World Book Week to Years 9-13. Our Book Week started last week with our Prep School and is continuing this week for Year 7&8 Prep School students and our Middle School and Sixth Form students.

The assembly was very interactive with students and staff raising their hands for a book themed quiz. Students answered questions based on several books such as; The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, Roald Dahl, Harry Potter, and The Hunger Games.
The highlight of the assembly was a very funny video where staff spoke about their love of reading.
Gen then went through the plan for the week; Year 7&8 have a visiting author talk with Seth Burkett, Adisa the Verbalizer is joining us on Wednesday for workshops and an Open Mic session in the library at lunchtime and author Chris Bradford is in on Thursday and is doing talks, a Q&A session and book signing. Gen is also holding a design a door competition. Vouchers are also available to get £1 off any book.

Gen said: “A book is the best way to educate yourself. Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. Happy reading!”
Gen received a lot of positive feedback for the assembly from staff and students. Mr Yates, Deputy Head, said: “That was an assembly at its best, thank you and well done!”
