Well done to the Seaford Equestrian team of Bella Bamsey, Bella Wilmore and Zac Jones who came a good third in the 80/85cm class at Merrist Wood on Saturday 25th February.

Particularly well done to Bella Wilmore for jumping her first 80/85cm course in competition and for Zac for coming sixth individually.

The 90cm team of Bella Bamsey, Daisy Dace, Sophie Jones and Oliver Allison came sixth. “A couple of horses found the lights in the indoor arena rather spooky,” said Lucy Sanders, Seaford Equestrian Team Manager.

The 1.00m/1.05m team of Darcey Mayes, Sophie, Daisy and Lulu James rode very well to come second, which meant that Seaford now has a second team qualified for the Nationals at this height. Cranleigh won with Pangbourne third, Hurst fourth and Churcher’s fifth.

“We had two riders in the 1.10m Advanced class with Lulu on her second horse Kanga drawn to jump first,” said Lucy. “They flew round in an incredibly fast time for the win three seconds faster than the second-place rider. This qualifies Lulu for the National Championships and Hickstead Elite on both her horses having won this class on Martini during half term. Darcey rode a great round to come a respectable eighth at her first attempt in this Advanced class.”
