Prep School Chapel Service - Locust and Honey
Fr Colin gave a very interactive service this morning.

Our Prep School Chapel Service started with a reading of Matthew 3:1-6, 11 by Year 5 teacher Oliver Radlett.
Fr Colin said: “In Chapel this term we’re looking at big personalities in the Bible. Last week we learnt about Moses who was a reluctant leader, but he stepped up and led.
Today we’re thinking about John the Baptist who successfully preached the message that people need to be forgiven, it’s a message about leadership and forgiveness.”

In the reading John the Baptist eats bugs with honey because he lived in the wilderness, and it was essential for survival. To the delight of our Prep School students Fr Colin, Mrs Lyne and Miss Flippance all volunteered to eat a locust with honey which made the reading all the more memorable. Fr Colin said: “People wanted to be baptised by John the Baptist, but he said they should be baptised by Jesus because he knew how important it was. John the Baptist knew who he was and knew when to step up and speak but also knew how to step back and follow. What we can learn from this is to see the gifts, skills and talents in our neighbours and to put our faith in them.”

Well done to our Year 5 students Savannah, Sonny and Edward for reading the closing prayer.
