Matt Williams will take up the position of Head of Seaford College from September 2026.
We look forward to welcoming Matt to Seaford College.

Richard Venables Kyrke, Chair of Governors, is delighted to announce that Matt Williams will take up the position of Head of Seaford College from September 2026. Matt is currently Head of Warminster School, a co-educational 2–18 boarding and day school in Wiltshire, where he has been since 2019.
Matt said: "I am hugely honoured to have been entrusted to be the next Head of Seaford College; a school that stands proudly and unapologetically for educating the whole person. Seaford has a warmth that is instantly palpable. On my visits to the College, I noticed an instant sense of belonging and a strong feeling of community that I will work fiercely to preserve. John Green has done a remarkable job over the last 13 years, and I am privileged to build on his excellent work, continuing to make the College a true beacon of holistic education. I look forward to meeting more of the community and working closely with John to ensure a seamless transition over the coming months."
Matt started teaching 28 years ago and has always worked in boarding schools. He spent 14 years at Rugby School where he was Head of Department and Housemaster of a senior boys’ boarding house, before moving on to Deputy Headship at Sidcot School in North Somerset. He has always involved himself in all aspects of school life, coaching cricket and rugby, directing numerous drama productions, taking charge of clay pigeon shooting, as well as leading several international sports tours. He is an ISI Team Inspector, on the Board of the Society of Heads as well as Chair of the Education Committee, and a member of the HMC Public Benefit and Partnerships Committee.
Richard said: “My Board and I have great confidence in Matt’s appointment, and that he is the right person to continue the success of our school. We are delighted to welcome Matt to Seaford College.”
