Under John’s leadership, the school has seen significant growth in student numbers and academic achievement, with stronger GCSE and A Level results and increasing pathways to top universities. Seaford College’s overall student numbers have increased significantly, from the mid-600s to around 960+, reflecting growing demand for places and the continued development of the school under his leadership. John introduced a Reception class, making Seaford a true through-school from Reception to Year 13.

Over more than a decade in post, John has strengthened Seaford’s reputation locally and nationally, enhancing its profile, appeal to families, and engagement with alumni. This has led to outstanding inspection reports and recognition through national awards for environmental achievement, wellbeing, and the performing arts, as well as sporting honours, including becoming a Cricketer Top 100 school. Seaford won Independent Schools of the Year for Environmental Achievement in 2022. Finalists in prestigious award for Wellbeing, School Trips and Performing Arts. ISI inspections – Awarded “Excellent” and then a rare accolade of a “Significant Strength” in 2026: “Seaford College’s exceptional emphasis on pupils’ physical development, health and wellbeing as a "Significant Strength", recognising how this distinctive approach underpins pupils’ academic engagement, confidence and personal development."

Investment has been in the region of £15m which includes all new builds, refurbishments, repurposing of existing built assets and the development programmes that have been delivered to improve existing facilities for teaching & learning, sport and co- curricular offerings.
