First round success at the English Speaking Union Mace competition!

The Seaford Sixth Form Debating Team of Eva Briscoe, Amy Allison and Elle Thomson successfully navigated their way through the first round of the ESU Mace competition at Christ's Hospital yesterday, beating three other schools.

Head of English Kevin Finniear said: “Opposing the motion that the UK should adopt a four-day week for schools, the three performed brilliantly, putting forward detailed and convincing arguments. Charlie Bamsey, a regular Debate Club member, also acted as chair and timekeeper for the evening. The team now progresses to the second round later this term.”
