Careers Tea - Marketing

Seaford's popular Careers Teas are a great chance for students to find out information and think about their futures.

Seaford held a Careers Tea for Year 10-13 students this term on Marketing.

Angela Loten, Head of Careers, said: "Thank you to Kate Bosomworth, Holly Sabin and Sarah Twigger, three very experienced and talented speakers who volunteered to share what they do/have done. An interested group of students heard about careers in Marketing, Advertising, PR and generally about how different career paths can be forged. Sarah Twigger, Seaford’s Director of Marketing, spoke about the different career paths in marketing, the skills you need to succeed and Marketing at Seaford. Holly Sabin, Seaford’s Media Teacher, spoke about her work in charities and then Kate Bosomworth shared her work on the inspirational campaign, This Girl Can, for Sport England.”

The informal talk gave students the chance to discuss their career plans and to gain advice from the speakers. We will have more Careers Teas next term.

Our Speakers:

Sports: Ms Kate Bosomworth 

Kate has worked in marketing and communications for over twenty years, working with some of the biggest brands in the world. Much of this time has been spent in sport, spanning both commercial and government sectors. A serial entrepreneur, Kate started her first Sports PR agency in 2003 which she went on to sell and eventually step back from in 2016 after a series of mergers and acquisitions. More recently Kate founded Platform London – a strategic brand agency launched in 2020, she is also Non-Exec Chair of leading sports law firm Onside Law. Between 2013 – 2019 Kate was on the Board of Sport England during which time she was Strategic Board lead for the hugely successful and award-winning campaign This Girl Can. Kate spends a lot of time mentoring young businesses in sport and mentoring those at the start of their careers. 
 

Fundraising: Mrs Holly Sabin

Mrs Sabin teaches Media Studies here at Seaford but her previous career was in online marketing, fundraising and communication for the charities Cancer Research, WWF (wildlife) and Christian Aid (international development). She has worked on branding and web design too. 

Corporate & School: Mrs Sarah Twigger 

Mrs Twigger has talked to us before about her various roles in the retail industry and her job as Director of Marketing at Seaford. She and her team will be familiar to you all as they go around school taking photos and interviewing for the school's social media. Come and find out why she does this for us.”
