Art & Media

Seaford College has long been recognised as having one of the strongest Art & Design departments in the South of England.

With Fine Art, Ceramics, Graphic Design, Textile Design, and 3D studies all studied at GCSE and Photography added as an A Level, the opportunities for students with creative talent are exceptional.

All students study Art once a week in KS2 and KS3. Many choose to study one, or sometimes two, of the disciplines at GCSE and are highly successful. The take up at A Level is very high and students can even do a mixed media ‘unendorsed’ course if they so wish.

Facilities within the department are superb. A suite of computers, a print-making area equipped for silk screen, relief printing and etching, a photographic studio and dark room, software to enable stop frame animation, a textiles area and two kilns make almost everything possible.

A great many students go on to do foundation courses at top art colleges and some even manage to bypass that stage and are accepted straight onto university degree courses.

Our Prep School use our Art facilities and we hold very popular Art Clubs during Prep sessions.
