CCF (Combined Cadet Force)
CCF is an exciting and integral part of the personal development of all our students in Year 10.
In Year 11 and the Sixth Form attendance is voluntary and the cadets have an increased focus on leadership development, as a result there is the opportunity to complete a BTEC Level 2 in Teamwork and Personal Development in the Community. The CCF provides unique opportunities to all cadets to attend inspiring camps and courses, both in the UK and abroad and with all three services – Royal Navy, Army, and Royal Air Force.
Seaford’s Army sponsor unit is Thorney Island, where the army sailing school is based and where cadets can do water sports. We also take part in Field Days, Portsmouth Navy, RAF air experience flying at Boscombe Down, and we have an adventure training camp each year during the Easter holidays (previously in Wales and Cornwall), with mountain biking, coasteering, kayaking, and surfing.
The aim of the CCF programme is to be interesting, fun and informative in order to inculcate leadership, self-reliance, and confidence in the cadets.
