Twenty Seaford CCF cadets and three staff attended the Army Cadet Training Team Central Summer Camp at St Martin’s Plain Camp in Folkestone, alongside cadets from other schools.

The five days of activities included paddle sports; raft building; mountain biking; archery; climbing; shooting; paintball close-quarter battle; escape room; bushcraft; compound clearing and section attacks. Competition day, rounding off the camp, tested the skills cadets had practised in the week.

Captain Lomas, the Seaford CCF School Staff Instructor, said: “We had cadets from Year 8 to 13, some having a few years of cadet experience and others on their first camp. The cadets all learned new skills and worked well together as a team. They completed the challenging and enjoyable tasks set for them, with everyone contributing. We did well on the competition day and showed that we could compete with other CCF Schools. All the cadets had a great time and were definitely not put off by a bit of wet and windy weather.”
