Anti-bullying Week Presentation
An interactive session providing practical skills and strategies for students.

Year 8 and 9 students had a talk with Rob Higgs (actor and performer) on the topic of anti-bullying, wellbeing and mental health.
Rob’s ‘The Boy in the Photograph’ presentation has a positive focus on empowering pupils by providing them with the practical skills and strategies to understand and prevent bullying behaviour within school.

Rob used case studies, short film, comedy and drama activities to address the following themes:
Mental health
Empathy
Resilience
Confidence
Self-Esteem
‘Bullying’ versus ‘Banter’
Cyber Bullying and Online Behaviour

Well done to all of the students who took part in the drama activities, it was a great way to understand the message.

Rob discussed the #dontsaydontsend Kidscape campaign, focusing on mindful communication over phones, WhatsApp, and social media. He encouraged everyone to ask, "Would I say this to someone’s face?" If not, he advised against posting. He concluded by emphasising the power of bystanders, reminding students, “Take action, and it will create a ripple effect.”

John Green, Headmaster said: “Our community at Seaford has a zero-tolerance approach to bullying and, if ever bought to our attention, it is dealt with swiftly and sensitively. Make a difference to each other by being nice to the person next to you and remember what you say leaves a lasting mark on people.”
Thank you Rob for the fantastic presentation, your unique approach had credibility with our students because you spoke to them from the perspective of having experienced bullying yourself. Your use of video clips and humour really worked.
