Sixth Form Admissions
Sixth Form - Year 12 (students aged 16/17)
Following a visit, if you would like your son or daughter to be considered for a place at Seaford College Sixth Form, please complete the registration form as soon as possible and return this to Admissions together with payment of the £100 registration fee. This will initially reserve a place for your son or daughter in the year group, but it is not a guarantee of a place.
We advise registering your son or daughter at least 1.5 years prior to when you would like them to join.
To enrol for the Sixth Form A Level courses, students require 40 (including a 6 in English and Maths) points from GCSE, a satisfactory reference from their current school and an Academic Transfer Meeting with our Director of Sixth Form. At this meeting, there is an informal interview with the Director of Sixth Form. We can also offer places on our BTEC courses on a case-by-case basis, and students can do a mixture of A Level and BTEC courses.
There are no formal assessments for Sixth Form, we make conditional offers based on predicted GCSE results, references, and the Academic Transfer Meeting. All places will be confirmed by the Director of Sixth Form just after GCSE results in August.
Students applying for Scholarships will be invited to attend assessment days once they have accepted a place.
Confidential references including predicted GCSE grades will be requested from a student's current school prior to the Academic Transfer Meeting and parents are asked to inform their child's school of their application to Seaford College.
We make conditional offers in mid-January based on predicted GCSE results, references, and the Academic Transfer Meeting. Students who are offered a conditional place will be requested to pay a £1,000 deposit to secure their place.
All places will be confirmed by the Director of Sixth Form just after GCSE results in August. If your son or daughter is unsuccessful at this stage, Seaford College will refund your deposit.
