A trip for Year 12 students of the Welsh 3000s is being luanched next week.

Over the Christmas break some intrepid members of Outdoor Education team conducted a recce of the Welsh 3000s route. This is a well-recognised route, consisting of about 30 miles walking with 12,000 feet of ascent taking in all 15 of the mountain peaks in Wales that are over 3000 feet in height. It is a demanding, arduous journey, with some exposed mountainous scrambling.

Major Plewes said: “We are planning an event for Year 12 students. It is a physically challenging mountain experience that will literally and metaphorically broaden their horizons, boost their confidence and self-awareness and, as a result it will look good on their CVs and Personal Statements.”

Major Plewes will be speaking to Year 12 students on Monday during P1 Tutor time about the trip.
