Students loved learning about space with virtual reality.

Our Prep School students headed into space this morning courtesy of the Education Group. The workshops used virtual reality headsets. Students excitedly said as they used the VR headsets for the first time: ‘Wow’, ‘I see stars!’, ‘I’m going to the moon’ and ‘It’s like being on a rollercoaster’.

The sessions were very educational, they visited each planet and this was followed by a question and answer session.

As an example, questions about Mercury included; Is it hot or cold, if so why?, How many moons does it have?, Who is it named after?, How long is a Mercury day compared to an earth day?, and Mercury has more of what compared to any other planet?

Students said after the workshop that they really enjoyed learning using virtual reality and that it helps them remember facts.
