There have been plenty of happiness vibes at Seaford this week!

Testing and Face Coverings Update

A message from our Headmaster, John Green: “Well, here we are at the end of the first week back in school, now that lockdown measures are in the first stages of easing.  Indeed, it has just been so wonderful to have all of our students return to our classrooms, corridors and outdoor areas – with wonderful smiles on their faces!

This week we have tested all year groups twice and I am delighted to say that thus far we have had no positive cases.  Well done to all students who have taken the testing in their stride with no complaints whatsoever – just plenty of happiness vibes! Likewise, all students have adapted incredibly well to the transparent Government recommendation of wearing face coverings inside buildings, including classrooms. Thank you also to all those parents who have communicated directly to me with positive feedback concerning the student return to school.

As indicated in my previous communication, after their three tests are completed in school, then students need to undertake lateral flow testing at home. The three tests in school have provided a very good introduction as to how to self-administer the tests. To make sure the first batch of home testing kits arrive home, I have made the decision for such testing kits to be posted directly to you today. Therefore, testing kits should be with you over the next couple of days.

A huge thank you to Jo Brown, Leonie Randon, Fiona Askew, Sarah Forsyth and other support staff for packing over 750 envelopes this week!”

Important Information:

We have posted two boxes of test kits home to you (for Year 7-13 students).  Each box contains 3 testing kits; therefore, you will have six separate COVID tests in total.

More information is in our Headmaster’s Letter which has been emailed today.
