Seaford students and staff visited the Chichester District Food Bank to continue their community work with the charity.

Yesterday, Colleen Hayes from our Charity Committee, together with Pasquale Giannitti and Luke Scott from our Operations Department, went along to the Foodbank with our Head Boy, Matthew Short, Erin Harte and George Apps from our Sixth Form.  The students got busy packing 650kg of food into 50 children’s lunch boxes and Pasquale and Luke ferried 1.2 tonnes of made up boxes to the distribution centre, in Orchard Street.

Colleen Hayes sorted out the donated food, some of which was from the Seaford College Community.  Sarah Adams, Process Manager for the Foodbank, said: “The donations of food could not have arrived at a more critical time, as it was becoming more and more challenging to meet the needs of those needing to use the foodbank. Without the donations we would have had to purchase food to meet deadlines.”

Sarah has asked to convey her heartfelt thanks to the Seaford community of students, parents and staff for their continued support.

This was the last time that some our Sixth Form students will visit the Foodbank, before they leave Seaford College and Lara Stitt, Chair of The Charity Committee, would like to take this opportunity of thanking the student body from the Sixth Form Charity Committee, who have helped and worked tirelessly.  Lara said: “They have always had smiles on their faces combined with energy and enthusiasm for the last two years with the Foodbank, Nursing Homes and other ventures – you have all done yourselves, and Seaford College, proud and would like to wish all of you the very best for the future.”
