Seaford's writing competition celebrates the abundance of writing talent in our school community.

Seaford College Prep School held a writing competition for creative writers to prouduce captivating stories or poems.

Adam Cooper, KS2 Literacy Coordinator, said: "It is always wonderful to celebrate the abundance of talent in our school community. Creative writing encourages children to use their imagination and broaden their thought process while developing problem-solving abilities and I was tremendously impressed by the skill and enthusiasm of our pupils. The standard was very high and choosing the winners was not an easy task!  I would like to thank all the entrants for taking the opportunity to stretch themselves academically and for their creative, imaginative, and beautifully written pieces of writing."

Year 2-6 runners up are Cameron Thomson and Coco. Beatrice Powell won in this age group. Year 7&8 runners up are Annabel Powell and Sophia Johnson. Ben Twigger won in this age group.  Well done to our winners and to everyone who took part!

Adam Cooper added: "We wanted to provide our young people with an opportunity to stretch themselves and write outside of the boundaries of the curriculum. It has been really exciting to see so many young people rise to the challenge and the abundance of creativity and imagination on show.”

The theme of the competition was Music. What we mean by this is that music must be a key part of the poem or story.
