Congratulation Jemima on your success!

Congratulation to Jemima Rowe, Year 9, who has come 1st in the British Arts dance competition for her song and dance performance.

Extraordinarily, Jemima was one of the youngest in the 13–16 year category and was successful through three heats to win the final. Her song 'Windy City' from Calamity Jane, was rehearsed with input from Bessie Cursons (Peripatetic Dance teacher) and Sara Reynolds (Voice teacher and Director of Performing Arts) during all heats and before the final.

Jemima’s mum, Rachel, said: “To see her on the stage singing her heart out was very special. We are so grateful to Miss Cursons for teaching the dance to Jemima and supporting her throughout. Bessie’s dance school enter many of the same festivals, so she has great experience and guidance. Both my daughters, Jemima and Izzy really enjoy their dance lessons at Seaford. Thank you for providing them with such amazing teachers to support them in doing what they love.”

Izzy Rowe, Jemima's sister, Year 10, also danced in a quartet and three groups in the competition and is still waiting for their results. One of her groups, The Nightmare, was congratulated that it was like watching a West End Show and the makeup took almost an hour to remove!”

Well done to both Jemima & Izzy! Jemima is pictured here with her trophy.
