Cricket at Seaford is thriving.

Earlier this term, the Seaford Boys’ 1st XI cricket team was lucky enough to play in one of the season’s marquee fixtures against the world-famous Lord’s Taverners.

The Lord’s Taverners is the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity, and their team included the former England rugby union captain, Rob Andrew.

“The Taverners is an amazing charity that raises money to give kids a sporting chance and uses cricket as the vehicle,” said Rob. “We’re trying to build relationships with schools like Seaford and to raise awareness.”

Year 12 student Monty Hodgson said: “I really admire the work that the Taverners do. It’s brilliant that they do so much work in the community and give opportunities to people who without their help wouldn’t be able to play cricket.”
