Prefects play a vital role in the running of Seaford and it's a fantastic leadership opportunity for our Upper Sixth.

Students chosen to be Prefects received their badges this week and were thanked for the important contribution they are already making to life at Seaford College.

At the Prefect Tea held to mark the occasion, the new prefects, all drawn from Year 13, formally took up their leadership roles. Thanking the students, Headmaster John Green, said: “You make a positive difference around the school and we can’t run Seaford without you. Your energy and everything you do makes a tremendous difference. Students in the younger years look up to you and what you do this year will make a difference. I value your support.”

Joe Follows, Director – Head of Sixth Form, said: “We’re only two weeks into term and I have already had stunning feedback from our Heads of Year about how prep time is run. They have said, “your Prefects are fabulous this year!”. The staff in the kitchen and dining room have noticed how your duties improve the flow of students into the Dining Room. The Prefects last year couldn’t perform these duties because of Covid bubbles and we’ve missed the vital role you play within our community. Thank you in advance for all of your hard work and energy this year.”

The Prefect system is just one of the leadership opportunities offered to students at Seaford.
