Our Guyana trip group is fundraising to mark World Rainforest Day on 22nd June.

In 2021 Seaford has a group of students heading on a trip to Guyana. They will be working in the rainforest collecting biodiversity data to help understand and protect it.  The Guyana trip group have decided to raise funds over this weekend to mark World Rainforest Day on 22nd June.

Head of Biology and trip organiser, Beccy Weir, said: “Over the summer term we had a lot of fundraising plans in place, but due to lockdown we’ve had a rethink!  We’ve come up the idea to do something within our own communities that fits our cause, and helps others. Our idea is to do a sponsored litter pick from Friday 19th-Monday 22nd in our local areas.  We are going out on as many walks as possible to clean up parks, beaches, paths, village streets etc. We are looking for donations to either sponsor us as a team per bag of rubbish we collect or just to make a one off donation.  The money we collect will go towards our trip and the Sussex Wildlife Trust.  Local communities will benefit from the clean up so we hope this will be more of an incentive for people to donate.”

To make a donation, please head to the Guyana trip Go Fund Me page: https://gf.me/u/x898n4
