Year 10 GCSE Computer Science pupils spent the day at Southampton University learning about cybersecurity and robotics.

The day started with a talk from a member of the cybersecurity team at the University which covered topics such as ethical hacking, security threats and how to prevent them. Following this was a talk from a member of the Electronics Department giving an insight into the hardware and processes involved in the development of wearable technology. Finally, pupils had the opportunity to get hands on with a robotics challenge.

“The trip was good. I enjoyed the cyber security talk as well as the smart watch talk. I found the robotics especially interesting, and I thought it was very educational. The campus was nice, and I would like to visit again.” Joe Pearce Yr 10
