Congratulations to Mollie & Lottie on your selection. Ad Alta!

Seaford Cricket received a boost recently with the news that Mollie Adams (Year 10) and Lottie Curling (Year 9) have earned places on the prestigious Sussex Performance Programme for the county’s most promising cricketers.

The girls, who have been part of the Sussex Cricket Pathway, will now benefit from additional and more intensive coaching from the county’s top coaches, including Alexia Walker, Sussex Women’s Head Coach.

Eleven girls in total from across the county have been chosen by Sussex Cricket to enter the Performance Programme, which is split into a junior group and a senior group.

Chris Adams, Head of Cricket at Seaford, said it was encouraging to have two girls from the College in the five-strong Junior Group of the Programme.

“It’s great that Sussex is taking girls’ cricket to the next level, and it shows just how much women’s cricket is flying right now with all the publicity it received last year through its various competitions like The Hundred,” he said. With the launch of the Performance Programme, there was now a genuine route for girls to go on a play cricket professionally, he added.

“We introduced girls’ cricket across all age groups at Seaford last year, and we can already see that the younger year groups have real talent,” said Chris. “Cricket is a very strong core summer sport for the girls at Seaford.”

In a letter to Mollie and Lottie, Alexia Walker, said: “The journey of a young female cricketer is as exciting as it has ever been and alongside the Sussex Pathway and the Southern Vipers programme we believe it is important to provide additional support to those showing real potential, passion and drive to fulfil their ambitions.”
