Congratulations to Charlie on your professional contract.

Congratulations to Charlie Tear who has signed his first professional contract with Sussex CCC. Charlie captained the 1st XI in Year 13 and also starred for Scotland in the Under 19s Cricket World Cup in West Indies during the winter and led Seaford to the final of the Langdale Cup at Hove this month.

Charlie, who also grew up playing for West Chiltington and Thakeham Cricket Club, said he was excited about starting out as a professional cricketer with Sussex.

Chris Adams, former Sussex and England cricketer, now Head of Cricket at Seaford College, said he was delighted for Charlie, who has graduated through the College’s performance cricket programme. “Charlie is an incredibly hard-working student,” he said. “He continues to impress as a developing cricketer and a leading example when it comes to attitude.”

Charlie played his final game for Seaford College this week and signed off with an unbeaten 125 against Framlingham.
