A fun trip to enjoy poetry.
Seaford students enjoyed a trip to the Groundlings Theatre in Portsmouth on Wednesday evening to see poet Brian Bilston. Bilston keeps his real name a mystery and refuses to have his photo taken hence his reputation as the ‘Banksy of Poetry’.
Head of English, Kevin Finniear, said: “The students loved the performance and were surprised to find that his style was more like that of a stand-up comedian at times. Many of them had read his poem Refugees in class, which he performed on the evening.”
Young Welsh poet Rowen Brittany also performed and impressed the students, with some buying the anthology containing her work as part of this year's Ports Fest.
