Seaford College had a great day at the NSEA National Qualifiers with our Prep School team coming 2nd to Farlington in the 12 years and under 70cm class, and beating Cranleigh, St Catherine’s, Dorset House, Alton School and Brambletye.
The top two teams qualify for the National Championships at Addington in October so the girls were delighted. It will be the first time that a team from the Prep School goes to the NSEA National Show Jumping Championships!
Very well done to the team of Emma Perrett, Abigail Jupp, Grace Bolton and Bella Crowley. Emma also came 5th individually so qualifies for the National Plate Championships for riders and teams placed 3rd – 6th in a Nationals Qualifier.
Our 80cm team of Jessie Schute, Emma Perrett, Sophie Gosling & Grace Bolton came 3rd in a tough class where the course caused problems for many riders. Emma rode a very fast jump-off round to come 4th individually so both our team and Emma as an individual qualify for the National Plate Championships.
The 90cm team was sadly depleted with Beanie Bradley standing down on medical grounds due to a polo stick in the face during the previous weekend’s SUPA Ladies’ National Arena Polo Championships where she joined Heathfield and Cheltenham to win the Open section.
We were unplaced as a team this time but Emma rode brilliantly again to come 6th individually.
Sophie Jones, who joins Seaford in September 2019 with an Equestrian Scholarship, came a fantastic 3rd individually. I am very much looking forward to having her on our teams next year.
Very well done to all our riders in a high pressure and very high standard competition.
