Seaford Sevens

Seaford 7sWe hosted our annual Rugby 7s festival at the weekend and the event was a huge success, with sixteen teams from schools across the country coming to play.

Ahead of the event, Head of Rugby at Seaford College, Dan Falvey, spoke about the really high quality of teams that were coming. A number were returning teams, including Hurst who were coming to defend their title, but there were also some teams who were attending for the first time.

The standard of rugby displayed was exceptionally high with the sixteen teams split into four groups. The winners of each group competed for the Seaford Cup which was eventually won by Dulwich College after beating Epsom College the Final. There were further Bowl, Plate and Shield competitions for the teams that did not win their group. Hurstpierpoint College’s A team won the Bowl, Hurstpierpoint College won the Plate and Caterham School won the Shield competition.

Seaford 7s 2019Cup winners Dulwich College said “Huge thanks Seaford College for a great tournament. Well done to these boys – worked very hard all day”.

Epsom College commented “Great start to the 7s season, runners up in the cup. Great effort from everyone involved. Well played Dulwich College. Thank you Seaford College for hosting a great tournament. See you next year”.

Seaford 7s 2019The event wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible effort from our fabulous Sports staff, Catering Team, and Grounds staff. Thank you to everyone involved for making it such a successful event.
