Alfie Hyde named Most Improved Young Player

Alfie Hyde names Most Improved Young PlayerEarlier this year we were proud to announce that Alfie Hyde won the Farewell Cup at Cowdray. He was also awarded the Trophy for Most Improved Young Player by the chairman. A fantastic achievement.

Alfie has been playing in competitive tournaments for the last five years. He describes polo as a demanding sport. “I like the intensity” he says.

Success at CowdrayFollowing a trial tournament comprising 16 of the best young England players, Alfie was chosen as being one of the best four. In his first game, playing against America, it was Alfie’s penalty near the end that helped win the game for them, having been behind the whole way through.

Alfie was particularly happy to receive the trophy for Most Improved Player as he had been looking up to his friend who had won it for the past two years and hoping he would win it one day.

We caught up with Alfie about his successes and hear about his aspirations for the future.
