Seaford triumph at the West Sussex County qualifiers

Seaford's team celebrate at the West Sussex County qualifiersSeaford Equestrian had a fantastic day at the West Sussex County qualifier at Coombelands, Pulborough at the weekend. They were the Champions at 80cm & 90cm levels and will represent West Sussex at the National County Championships.

Our 70cm team of Emily Cook, Bella Crowley, Lara Drysdale and Deya Thomson came 2nd, just being pipped on time in the jump off by Farlington. Bella came 4th individually riding a very speedy round on her pony Silver.

In the 80cm class our team of Jessie Schute, Beanie Bradley, Sophie Gosling and Emily Cook WON, beating Hurst A & B teams, Farlington, Millais, Windlesham and Dorset House, and were crowned West Sussex County Champions!! Our second team of Emmy Burkinshaw, Emily Cook, Lauren Goldsmith and Lorna Leatherdale-Edwards also did well to come 7th.

Individually Emily was 2nd and Beanie 6th in very tough competition.

The 90cm team of Flora James, Lauren Goldsmith and Jessie and Beanie on their bigger ponies WON again so are West Sussex County Champions at this level too!! Not only were we the top team in the county but we also beat Cranleigh, Churchers, Gordons, Millais and Hurst to name a few. Our second team of Matilda Tedd, Nia Burkinshaw, Emily Cook and Lorna Leatherdale-Edwards are less experienced at this height but all did well with Lorna riding a super clear round at her first time jumping 90cm. Individually Jessie was 4th and Beanie 5th.

The 1.00m class was rather dramatic with Flora and her pony having a nasty fall and we all wish her a very speedy recovery and look forward to having her back on the team soon. We were unplaced as a team this time but Beanie went on to come 4th individually with Hurst taking the County Champions title.

The National County Championships is in April 2019 when Seaford will represent West Sussex against all the top schools in the other UK counties.

Very many congratulations to all our riders and thanks to the parents for all their support.
