Netball teams make Seaford College history twice in one day

Seaford College Prep School netball team at U13 SISNASeaford College’s netball teams have already enjoyed huge success in 2016, just a few weeks into the new term.

The 1st team have won all four matches played so far, beating Ardingly 21-14, Farlington 39-8, Charterhouse 42-12, and Ryde IOW 24-22. The netball sides made Seaford College history twice last week, firstly by putting four senior teams out against Charterhouse and then again by going on to win all four games, while the U14a and U14b teams also both had good wins against Ardingly.

The Prep School’s 2nd team remains undefeated and its 1st team (pictured) entered the U13 SISNA county tournament for the first time at the weekend. They played brilliantly to beat Mayfield, Burgess Hill and Christ’s Hospital, and draw with Hurst and Roedean, coming top of their group without losing a game all day. They did, however, finally meet their match in the semi-final against Brighton College, narrowly losing but still managing to secure the accolade of third-best team in the county. Parents from other schools were overheard exclaiming, “I had no idea that Seaford were that good!”

Another record will be broken this weekend when a total of eight Seaford girls’ netball teams will all play in one afternoon when we visit Cranleigh. “The strength and depth of the squads is undoubtedly the best I have seen in my five years at Seaford,” said netball coach Georgie Sims.
