Seaford College Win the Annual West Sussex West Netball Tournament!

Press Release 20th March 2014

Seaford College’s 1st Prep Netball team beat off competition from 16 other teams to win the annual West Sussex West Netball Tournament. Seaford were undefeated in each of their 7 pool matches with highlights of 10-1 vs Felpham and 11-0 vs Westergate before winning 3-1 vs Midhurst Rother in the final.

Lauren Bryant, Seaford’s netball coach said: “The Prep School netball is finally coming together due to the hard work of the girls and coaches alike. The 1st team have had a fantastic season only losing one game and winning this tournament topped off the season. The girls have worked extremely hard in training and are now playing some advanced netball. Ellie Holt (captain) scored multiple goals during the tournament and was consistent throughout. Some lovely defensive work from the likes of Loulou Robson, Frankie Richardson and Zoe Lunt meant the girls achieved numerous turnovers against the opposing team. A great achievement for the girls to compete with much larger schools than ourselves, we are very proud of what they have achieved.”

Megan Bennett (C) and Sophie Wall (WA) said: “We worked as a team and stayed strong through-out and improved in all of our matches. It was a great achievement for us to be undefeated and win the tournament.” Ellie Holt (GS-Captain) said: “It was great to captain the winning team of the tournament, everybody played very well.”
