The session focused on forward play, close contact work, protecting the ball, presentation of the ball and some scrummaging. Each pupil gained individual feedback to assist in all areas of their play and at the end of the session the pupils came away having learnt some tricks of the trade. They will be looking to put these key pointers into use in future matches.
Rob made his senior starting debut for Harlequins during the Aviva Premiership clash with Saracens at Wembley Stadium in 2012. The hooker has represented England at U16, U18 and U20 level and was among the stand out players in the 2011 Junior World Cup final against the Junior All-Blacks. Rob also toured with England’s senior team to Argentina in the summer of 2013.
Our Performance Development Group (PDG) members were able to question Rob and gain an insight into what it takes to become a professional sportsman. He talked about fitness, skills, diet, training, role-models and the mentality of sports persons. With the PDG developing our top athletes, this was the first of many sporting personalities who will be visiting the College.
