National disability charity United Response will be celebrating its 40th anniversary with a fantastic free family fun day from 2-6pm on Saturday 6 July at Seaford College, Lavington Park, Petworth. The charity is inviting everyone from around the local area to join them at the college for a whole host of games, activities and delicious food and drink.
United Response was founded in West Sussex and so Seaford College’s beautiful 400 acre grounds provide the perfect location to celebrate the charity’s achievements over the past 40 years.
The day will be packed with activities and games for all ages and interests including a bouncy castle, beat the goalie, face painting, a climbing wall, giant garden games, tractor rides and much more. In addition, there will be a number of competitions for the public to get involved in including best cake and best shot at clay pigeon shooting and archery. For those looking for a bite to eat there will be an array of tasty food and drink available including cream teas, a BBQ stand and of course a birthday cake! The event runs from 2-6pm with prize giving and cake cutting by United Response President and former BBC News presenter, Martyn Lewis CBE, at 5pm.
United Response CEO and co-founder, Su Sayer CBE said: “Although we are celebrating 40 years of United Response all over the country, we wanted to have a special celebration in West Sussex, where it all began. The family fun day is not only a celebration of United Response’s accomplishments but also a way for us to say thank you to our many friends and supporters and hopefully to make some new friends too. We are delighted that Seaford College – a longstanding supporter of United Response – is hosting this day for us”.
John Green, Headmaster of Seaford College, said: “I have had the pleasure of witnessing United Response in action over many years. So it’s only fitting to hold a family fun day close to where it all began. The charity has always been community focused and it’s the community who are now invited to help celebrate the charity’s success. It’s a free event and everyone is invited, so bring your friends and family and join in the celebrations!”
