DYLAN'S SKIING IS SNOW JOKE!

Monday 28th September 2009

Wilbrforce student Dylan Parkin has enjoyed tremendous success on the slopes.

Year 7 student Dylan Parkin has been enjoying tremendous success in skiing.

To say he took to the sport like a duck to water would be an underestimate: Dylan took his first tentative steps on skis before the age of three and rapidly outgrew most of the ski clubs geared to his age group in the UK.

While on holiday with his father Mark in Brekenridge, Colorado, back in March, Dylan took part in the American National Ski Championships, where he came 4th out of 1400 competitors in the time trials, winning through to the finals in his age group, at Steamboat, where he was placed 10th.

Although most of the competitors were native Americans and there were a few non-US citizens from Argentina and Canada taking to the pistes, Dylan was the only competitor from Europe.

The result places him as one of the fastest skiers in the American Championships – a remarkable achievement and very well done indeed!

Dylan, 12, lives in Godalming, Surrey, with father Mark and mum Kirsten.
