The Schools Challenge

The Schools ChallengeLast week, Seaford College entered a senior and an U15 clay shooting team into ‘The Schools Challenge’ which is run in association with The Oxford Gun Company.

Tony Bracci, Seaford Shooting Instructor, reports on the competition:

We got there in good time so the boys could shoot the pool shoot to warm up before the main 50 bird sporting shoot.

The warm up went well, but the windy conditions were a warning that the main shoot was going to be challenging. The two teams were split-up to shoot the same course but with different starting stands. Volunteer Coach Rob Lock was with us and took the U15 boys whilst I took the Senior Squad.

This was the first competition shoot for a lot of the boys away from Seaford’s grounds and the windy conditions made it tricky for even the more experienced members of the team.

Special mention should go to Matt Pike with the highest Seaford score of 41/50. Many thanks for the parents who came and supported us all.

The British Schools & Young Shots Championships will take place on Saturday 4th May. For more details contact Tony Bracci, Seaford Shooting Instructor:
