“Make this moment last forever”

Seaford College Choir is busy rehearsing for the Gary Barlow concert  on 23 April.  Ouli Jagne said: “I’m getting really excited now and feel very emotional when I think about the lyrics of the song”.  The choir are singing the composition ‘Sing’, written by Gary Barlow and Andrew Lloyd Webber for the Diamond Jubilee Concert in 2012.  Sara Reynolds, Head of Voice & Choirs at Seaford said: “The lyrics of the song ‘Sing’ have strong messages about effort, persistence and grabbing the moment which is something that is at the core of our ethos at Seaford.  The choir is doing really well; as we rehearse you can see they are really feeling the relevance of the lyrics.  They keep saying that they don’t want this experience to end, they just can’t wait to meet Gary on the night and sing in front of the packed out Arena.  They are really dedicated and love performing live for an audience.”

Here is a reminder of Gary Barlow performing ‘Sing’ with The Commonwealth Band and The Military Wives in June 2012. Seaford College Choir will perform ‘Sing’ live on BBC Radio Sussex on 22nd April at 11am. They will also feature on Spirit FM and are expected to appear on local TV news, so follow their progress on their journey to the performance on 23rd April on our website and our social media channels.  Win two tickets to Gary’s concert, CLICK HERE for details.

Sing

Some words they can’t be spoken only sung
So hear a thousand voices shouting love

There’s a place, there’s a time
In this life when you sing what you are feeling
Find your feet, stand your ground
Don’t you see
Right now the world is listening to what we say

Sing it louder, sing it clearer
Knowing everyone will hear you,
Make some noise, find your voice tonight
Sing it stronger, sing together
Make this moment last forever
Old and young
Shouting love tonight

To sing we’ve had a lifetime to wait
And see a thousand faces celebrate

You brought hope, you brought light
Conquered fear, it wasn’t always easy
Stood your ground, kept your faith
Don’t you see
Right now the world is listening to what we say

Sing it louder, sing it clearer
Knowing everyone will hear you,
Make some noise, find your voice tonight
Sing it stronger, sing together
Make this moment last forever
Old and young
Shouting love tonight

Some words they can’t be spoken only sung
To hear a thousand voices shouting love
And light and hope

By Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gary Barlow
