‘The Singing Prizes’ took place during the day on Wednesday 4th July 2012, and was hugely successful, consisting of some wonderful solo singing of the highest standard. More than 25 students competed at three levels – Senior, Intermediate and Junior – and the adjudicator, Ann Lampard, was incredibly impressed with the high standard of performance from every competitor.
The three winners each received a trophy, including two from Old Seafordians Giles White and James Cleverton, both now professional singers. The winner of the Senior prize was Katy Kilhams, with second prizes being awarded to Jenevra Glavin and Eleanor Pearce. Third place was given to Gemma Clarke. The Intermediate prize was won by Holly Graham, with second place being given to Hope Ladham and third to Tom Holder. The Junior prize was awarded to Alexandria White, with Jaime Pardey coming second and Hannah Wardrop and Rupert Blackwell receiving joint third places.
Ann Lampard was kind, supportive and encouraging to every child and gave some excellent, positive feedback to each one.
This was a fabulous event and we are sure that it will prove to be a highlight of every year in the Vocal Department of Seaford College.
